The general feeling of the whole album (and Ty Segall’s “Melted”), is like, 60s surf pop happy fun Beach Boys meets chugging guitars/punkish/Stooges-ish something something attitude? Which I’ve learned is my very favourite genre. (I’m looking at you too, Women). He (and Segall…sorry cannot stop comparing them…they’re tight bros and their music is super similar) are incredibly good at borrowing from, and merging different genres while not totally ripping off one on its’ own.
Beach Boys+hardcore punk rock=the best.

“Apathy” is undeniably the best fucking song on the album. I’ve tried to make myself sick of it, listening to it over and over, and I haven’t vomitted yet. As well, I generally hate saxophones in any type of music but the SAX SOLO during the outro of “Apathy” is really….badass?

The album is sweet and charming AND tough. You feel like a coolassmotherfucker walking around with it playing in your earbuds, yet you still smile at everyone. Get it?
Rating: The whole thing makes me feel way cooler than I am so that’s probably a lot of points.
