The New Mitzi’s Sister

FAIL.
Mitzi’s Sister re-launched/redecorated/redesigned/whatever a month or two or three ago. I’ve only been in once since “the change” (yes, as ominous sounding as PUBERTY) and it was stupid in there. Once a kinda grimy, comforting black hole in Parkdale, it seems they are maybe trying to keep up with the more “upscale” shit moving into the neighbourhood (Parts and Labour, The Kardashians..get it? Keeping up with…….ughhhh). They tried to brighten up the interior by painting the walls a stupid shade of beige and accenting it with..something else stupid..I forget what. Purple or green. Do you even care? When I was there I was trying to tone down the bitch so I didn’t take any pictures nor had I complained about it publicly until now. They also added some blown up black and white photographs that are bad. The ceiling is still painted black so the brightening up was kind of futile. I think they are screwing with the menu too but it’s not on their site right now so I CANNOT CONFIRM NOR DENY. The worst thing of all, HOWEVER, is that the name has been changed to “THE SISTER”.
WTF.
In conclusion, I used to love you, Mitzi’s Sister. I liked how dark and cozy you were because of the dark and because of my shy. You felt lived in (yuck!) and real and you weren’t “trying”, you know? I think it’s weird that you are like this now, especially when the other Mitzi’s have maintained their identities. Please don’t change them. Hencetoforththerefore I will solely (probably) be patronizing Mitzi’s Café on Sorauren. Which is where I usually went anyway. Basically, you don’t lose. But I’m speaking for all of Toronto here.
